Swara Bhasker Gets Mercilessly Trolled For Standing In Solidarity With Former JNU Student Umar Khalid Demanding For His Freedom
Swara Bhasker often finds herself at the receiving end of criticism whenever she shares her opinions, whether it is her normal opinion on random stuff or her opinion on a political matter. There has been a lot of instances where she has received an ample amount of flak from social media users. Well, similarly, the actress was highly trolled this time after casting support to a former Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) student leader Umar Khalid. According to a report in TOI, he was arrested late on Sunday under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) for his alleged role in the northeast Delhi riots. He was arrested by the special cell of the Delhi police after hours of interrogation. Seeing him get arrested, Swara took to her Twitter handle and showed her solitude towards Khalid and demanded his freedom. However, the actress got mercilessly trolled by the Twitterverse who created some memes.

While sharing her tweet, she simply used hashtags like "#StandWithUmarKhalid #FreeUmarKhalid" Apart from memes, there were some who even asked to go to jail or asked the police to put her behind the bars. Out of the many trolling comments, one of the users wrote, "Roses are red  Violets are blue Umar Khalid is arrested Next could be you" while another one wrote, "@ReallySwara  aunty agr tumhe itni hi Umar Khalid se pyaar hai to tum bhi jail chali jao uske paas Tumhare jail jane se hume koi problem nahi hai Wo tumhara wait kr raha hai jail mein usa itna wait krana achi baat nahi hai"

Meanwhile, she even retweeted a video of Khalid where he is seen giving a speech. He is heard saying, "We won’t respond to violence with violence. We won’t respond to hate with hate. If they spread hate, we will respond to it with love. If they thrash us with lathis, we will hold the tricolour higher."
